Basketball Game Preview: Utica Redskins vs. Licking Valley Panthers

Utica and Licking Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Utica Redskins are taking a road trip to challenge the Licking Valley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Utica is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since December 3, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Mt. Vernon by a score of 42-39. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Licking Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 27-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of Granville. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Utica's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Licking Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17.

Utica came up short against Licking Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 54-48. Can Utica avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
