Basketball Recap: Dinwiddie Comes Up Short

Dinwiddie's tournament run continued when they took on Knightdale on Saturday. The Dinwiddie Generals were beaten by the Knightdale Knights 62-33.

Despite the loss, Dinwiddie still got an impressive performance from Madisyn Hurtt, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Batts, who earned seven points.

Knightdale found their leader in sophomore Leia Rios, who went 8 for 17 on her way to 21 points. The matchup was Rios' third in a row with at least ten points. Ja'Kiyah Moore was another key player, putting up seven points along with six assists and five boards.

Dinwiddie's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Knightdale, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Dinwiddie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-33 loss against Eleanor Roosevelt on the 14th. As for Knightdale, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Corinth Holders at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th.
