Softball Recap: Roncalli Wins Going Away Against Green Bay East

After only one run in their last matchup, Roncalli made sure to put some runs up on the board against Green Bay East on Saturday. The Jets blew past the Red Devils 16-1. Considering the Jets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Madison Lamers made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Megan Lamers was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Emily Schultz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI.

Roncalli always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Roncalli moved to 8-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Roncalli will be playing at home against Valders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Green Bay East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
