Basketball Game Preview: Acorn Tigers vs. Danville Little Johns

The Acorn Tigers will take on the Danville Little Johns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Acorn has nine straight wins, Danville has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Acorn made easy work of Hackett and carried off a 58-32 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Danville came up short against Mountainburg on Tuesday, falling 63-43. While losing is never fun, the Little Johns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Dragons are ranked 100th).

Acorn has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.9 points. As for Danville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-18.

Everything came up roses for Acorn against Danville in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 63-32 win. Does Acorn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Danville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
