Baseball Game Preview: Regents Lions vs. Starkville Christian Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Regents Lions challenge Starkville Christian Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Regents came up short against Tunica Academy and fell 5-2. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Regents saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Edwards, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Starkville Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Newton County Academy on Friday and fell 11-9. The loss put an end to the Cougars' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Starkville Christian fell to 2-1. As for Regents, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.
