Baseball Preview: North Rangers vs. Mayfield Wildcats

For the first time this season, North will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the Mayfield Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. North will be strutting in after a victory while Mayfield will be coming in after a loss.

North's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Saturday. They blew past United 15-0.

Meanwhile, Mayfield came up short against Gilmour Academy on Saturday and fell 6-1. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Mayfield also got a good showing from Connor Mize, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Mayfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Koret, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

North's record now sits at 2-0. As for Mayfield, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
