Basketball Recap: Lakeview Comes Up Short

Lakeview fought the good fight in their overtime game against L'Anse Creuse on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the L'Anse Creuse Lancers by a score of 60-58. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

L'Anse Creuse got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Javeon Anderson out in front who went 7-for-12 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Kurtz, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Lakeview has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for L'Anse Creuse, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16.

Looking ahead, Lakeview will be playing at home against Mott at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeview is facing Mott at the right time seeing as Mott is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for L'Anse Creuse, they have already played their next contest, a 72-58 loss against New Haven on the 19th.
