Baseball Recap: Wellborn Falls Short of Pennington in the Playoffs

Wellborn and Pennington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Wellborn had to settle for second. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 27-3. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Wellborn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dozer Hayes, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Wellborn's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Pennington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pennington beat Wellborn by a score of 19-5 later that day.
