Baseball Game Preview: Model Patriots vs. Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls

The Model Patriots will face off against the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Model came out on top against Burgin on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Patriots took their game against the Bulldogs 7-3.

Cal Hall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Chace Lowery also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Owsley County). Everything went their way against Cordia on Saturday as they made off with a 28-5 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Owls / Lady Owls considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Model's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9. As for Owsley County, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Everything went Model's way against Owsley County in their previous meeting back in April of 2016, as Model made off with a 16-3 victory. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Owls / Lady Owls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
