Softball Recap: Quitman Comes Up Short

Quitman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Morton, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Quitman of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Quitman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was RAYLEIGH MIXON, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That stolen base marked the first that MIXON snagged this season.

Quitman's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Morton, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Morton beat Quitman by a score of 10-0 on Thursday.
