Baseball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Bulldogs vs. Southern Columbia Area Tigers

The Tri-Valley Bulldogs will face off against the Southern Columbia Area Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tri-Valley will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.

Tri-Valley managed to slip by North Schuylkill the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 8-2 to the Spartans on Thursday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern Columbia Area). They were the clear victors by a 19-6 margin over Warrior Run on Thursday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Southern Columbia Area got a massive performance out of Caden Hopper, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Hopper a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kole Myers, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southern Columbia Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warrior Run only managed seven hits.

The victory was the third in a row for Southern Columbia Area, bringing their record up to 9-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
