Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Crest Falcons vs. Manheim Central Barons

The Cedar Crest Falcons will square off against the Manheim Central Barons at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Crest will be strutting in after a victory while Manheim Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Cedar Crest proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cocalico, sneaking past 8-6.

Isaac Kreider was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Jackson Custer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Manheim Central's offense. They lost 10-0 to Conestoga Valley on Wednesday. The Barons' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Manheim Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Groff, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Cedar Crest's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Manheim Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
