Soccer Game Preview: West Valley vs. Foothill

The West Valley Eagles will face off against the Foothill Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Monday just wasn't the day for West Valley's offense. They came up short against Gridley on Monday, falling 12-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Foothill was not quite Red Bluff's equal in the second half on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. One reason for the loss might be the Cougars' aggressive play style: Kole Mata and David Scott were both handed yellow cards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Foothill fell to 1-1-2. As for West Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
