Baseball Recap: Weiss Snags 13th Victory in Last 14 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Weiss walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Randle Lions on Friday as they made off with an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jessie Hernandez was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Jordan Benjamin was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Weiss is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Randle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-14-3.

Looking ahead, Weiss will take on Kingwood Park on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. Randle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
