Basketball Recap: Kaylea Robinson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pretty Prairie over Bucklin

Pretty Prairie lost against Bucklin back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pretty Prairie Bulldogs fell 54-42 to the Bucklin Red Aces. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Pretty Prairie's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylea Robinson, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Goering, who posted five points and three steals.

Karlee Evans went supernova for Bucklin, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. Evans is becoming a predictor of Bucklin's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). Isabel Bowman was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Pretty Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Bucklin, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pretty Prairie will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Udall at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Bucklin and Ingalls will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
