Football Recap: Refugio's Rushing Dominance Continues + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Refugio rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 35-23 victory over the Weimar Wildcats. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

Refugio had a senior duo take command as Ray Lewis rushed for 121 yards and one score on only seven carries and Zander Wills rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Lewis' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 121 rushing yards.

Refugio was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 308 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 257 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Refugio didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Matthew Perez and Lewis.

Refugio's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Weimar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Refugio will challenge Rosebud-Lott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bobcats 10.4, the Cougars 9.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Weimar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
