Lee County is 8-2 against Southern Lee since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lee County Yellow Jackets will challenge the Southern Lee Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Lee County and seven for Southern Lee.

Lee County is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Scotland on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lee County lost 57-35 to Scotland.

Meanwhile, Southern Lee had to suffer through a 74-18 loss at the hands of Union Pines. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Vikings are ranked 52nd).

Lee County's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Southern Lee, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Lee County won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January, slipping by Southern Lee 37-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lee County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
