Baseball Recap: Ironwood Takes a Loss

Ironwood lost against Willow Canyon last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ironwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ricardo Diaz Soto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Ironwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Willow Canyon, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ironwood will head out to square off against Fairfax at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stampede have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Willow Canyon, they are taking a road trip to take on Kellis at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
