Softball Recap: Andrew Wins Going Away Against Joliet West

Andrew never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Joliet West Tigers with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Thunderbolts haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Clare Hester, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Joliet West off the board.

On the hitting side, Ana Cisek was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was MaTaia Lawson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

The victory got Andrew back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Andrew will venture away from home to take on Riverside-Brookfield at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Joliet West, they will head out to challenge Lincoln-Way West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
