East Union took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Kimball Jaguars 64-12. That's more bragging rights for the Lancers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Jackson Fay was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 74 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 44 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kirk Simoni, who threw for 124 yards and two TDs.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Fay, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
East Union's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Erick Cortez and Gabriel Lopez, who racked up four sacks between them.
East Union has already played their next matchup, an 83-19 victory against Freedom on the 29th. As for Kimball, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
