If the Southern Christian Patriots were riding high off their 51-30 takedown of the Conecuh Springs Christian Eagles on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southern Christian's rough 47-23 loss to Evangel Christian on Saturday might stick with them for a while. Southern Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.
Southern Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Camdyn Oswald, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Oswald, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Southern Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Evangel Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Southern Christian and Springwood will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Evangel Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brooklane Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Brooklane Baptist will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 409th, while Evangel Christian is ranked 167th).
