Baseball Recap: Maryvale Wins Going Away Against Independence

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Maryvale brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They put the hurt on the Independence Patriots with a sharp 19-6 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Christian Valdez, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Rodriguez, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Maryvale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the win, Maryvale broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Independence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
