Football Recap: Willits Starts Season with Win Against Piner + How To Watch

Willits had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Piner Prospectors. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Prospectors, too.

Willits got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ricky Britton out in front who rushed for 153 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Britton's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards. Porter Garman was in the mix too, providing Willits with two scores.

Willits didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 54-0 win against Upper Lake on the 12th. As for Piner, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Analy at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
