Softball Recap: Ashland Takes a Loss

Barron hit Ashland with a 12-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Oredockers came up short against the Golden Bears, falling 14-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Oredockers in their meetings with the Golden Bears: they've now lost seven in a row.

Ashland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eve Pydo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Another was Molly Meske, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Ashland's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Barron, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Looking ahead, Ashland will head out on the road to square off against Cumberland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Oredockers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Beavers have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Barron, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spooner at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
