Matthews Christian Academy came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Victory Christian Cardinals by a score of 3-1. For the Colts, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The win didn't come easy: Victory Christian scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-23, 17-25, 25-23.

Victory Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Marissa Sloan, who had eight digs, seven blocks, six kills, and two aces. Another player making a difference was Olivia Smith, who had 15 assists and five aces.

Matthews Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Victory Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Matthews Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Abundant Life Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Victory Christian, they will head out to face off against Victory Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
