Basketball Recap: Ankeny Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Linn-Mar

Ankeny won the last time they faced Linn-Mar and things went their way on Saturday too. The Ankeny Hawks secured a 61-55 W over the Linn-Mar Lions. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Lions are ranked 31st).

Ankeny's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Linn-Mar, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ankeny will head out to take on Ankeny Centennial at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Linn-Mar, they will venture away from home to challenge Waterloo West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
