Basketball Recap: Nic Carrasco's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tulia over Big Spring

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Tulia finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell 36-28 to the Big Spring Steers. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Tulia's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nic Carrasco, who posted six points and seven rebounds. Carrasco is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zaiden Jalomo, who earned six points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Tulia's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Big Spring, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Tulia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-40 loss against Midland Christian on the 13th. As for Big Spring, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-39 defeat against Idalou on the 13th.
