Revere extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-11 in the process. They came up short against the Medford Mustangs, falling 19-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.
As for Medford, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
For Medford's part, Rocco Pucci made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pucci has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Travers Moodie looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Medford is 9-1 when Moodie allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Medford got a big performance out of Alex Gazzola, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Gazzola continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Jayden Burns was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
As of now, neither Revere nor Medford have any future games scheduled.
