Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Avalon

Avalon had won seven straight home games and Shawn McEwen did his part to make it eight on Tuesday. The Avalon Eagles strolled past the Blum Bobcats with points to spare, taking the game 65-48 thanks in part to McEwen, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Another player making a difference was Josh Novak, who went 7 for 8 en route to 15 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

Avalon's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Blum, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Avalon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-20 win against Morgan on the 24th. As for Blum, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-33 loss against Covington on the 24th.
