Basketball Game Preview: Edmonson County Wildcats vs. Daviess County Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Edmonson County Wildcats face off against Daviess County Panthers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Edmonson County is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

Edmonson County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 74-28 victory over Russellville. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Daviess County unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Owensboro Catholic.

Edmonson County will need to focus on slowing down Zoey Beehn, one of several Daviess County players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Lane, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 21 points.

Even though they lost, Daviess County was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their eighth loss (out of 24 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Edmonson County's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Daviess County, their loss dropped their record down to 18-12.

Edmonson County came out on top in a nail-biter against Daviess County in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 49-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edmonson County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
