Softball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield lost against Mineral Ridge on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 16-2 to the Rams. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Springfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Conner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Conner has hit this season.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Mineral Ridge, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Coming up, Springfield will welcome McKinley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.83 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mineral Ridge, they will face off against Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
