Baseball Recap: Bedford North Lawrence's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bedford North Lawrence entered their tilt with Martinsville on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Artesians with a sharp 18-7 win. Considering the Stars have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bedford North Lawrence got a massive performance out of Cal Gates, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Gates has posted since back in April. Jaden Gilbert was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Bedford North Lawrence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Bedford North Lawrence's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Martinsville, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
