Softball Game Preview: Brookings Bobcats vs. Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles

The Brookings Bobcats will face off against the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Brookings is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since May 3, 2024 on Friday. They lost 15-9 to Brandon Valley. The loss was the Bobcats' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Mitchell on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Kernels, falling 15-6. The Golden Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Addyson Keller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Ward, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Brookings fell to 3-1. As for Aberdeen Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Brookings took their victory against Aberdeen Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-3 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
