Softball Recap: Walker Valley Falls Short Against Ranked Silverdale Academy

Walker Valley faced Silverdale Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Mustangs wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. It was the first time this season that they let down their fans at home.

Walker Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vanessa Byers, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Karly Blackwell was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Walker Valley suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 24-8. As for Silverdale Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-4-1.

While Walker Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
