Preview: Poteet Pirates vs. Spruce Timberwolves
Poteet is 3-0 against Spruce since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Poteet Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Spruce Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. Poteet is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Poteet put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Adams at home to the tune of 74-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Poteet has posted since December 21, 2023.
Meanwhile, Spruce scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Conrad by a score of 46-38. Winning may never get old, but Spruce sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Spruce got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mesoulay Williams out in front who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Taniah Williams, who scored 13 points.
Poteet has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season. As for Spruce, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Everything came up roses for Poteet against Spruce when the teams last played on January 2nd as the team secured a 60-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poteet since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
