Softball Recap: Swansboro Pirates vs. Jacksonville Cardinals
Swansboro managed to slip by Jacksonville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Swansboro Pirates lost 9-1 to the Jacksonville Cardinals on Friday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.
Addison McMillan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Swansboro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katherine Cahall, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
