Basketball Recap: Water Canyon Comes Up Short

If Water Canyon was riding high fresh off their 51-25 takedown of El Capitan last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Water Canyon Wildcats took a blow against the South Sevier Rams on Tuesday, falling 68-30. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Water Canyon still got an impressive performance from Martha Jessop, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jessop continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Joann Barlow, who posted eight points.

Water Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for South Sevier, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Water Canyon will take on Beaver in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Sevier and Millard will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Eliza Larsen and Kinley Jenson.
