Baseball Recap: Torrance Beats West for Their Third Straight Win

Torrance waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the West Warriors. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-0 victory on Wednesday.

River Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Noriyoshi Mori was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Torrance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West only posted a batting average of .240.

Torrance's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for West, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.

Coming up, Torrance will square off against El Rancho at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
