Basketball Recap: Monte Del Sol Charter Comes Up Short

Monte Del Sol Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were dealt a 58-13 defeat at the hands of the Legacy Academy Silverbacks. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-6.

Jayde Garcia was Monte Del Sol Charter's leading scorer, having posted five points. Goksu Dolek held things down on the boards with three rebounds.

Legacy Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eden Griffis, who went 9-for-15 on her way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Griffis has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Briley Boll was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Monte Del Sol Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Legacy Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Monte Del Sol Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-22 defeat against Jemez Valley on the 11th. As for Legacy Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 52-27 win against Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy on the 11th.
