Soccer Game Preview: Catalina vs. Thatcher

The Catalina Trojans will face off against the Thatcher Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Catalina is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

If Catalina beats Thatcher with three goals on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Catalina came out on top against Tanque Verde by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Thatcher ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over ALA - Ironwood. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Catalina pushed their record up to 12-3-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those eight contests. As for Thatcher, their win bumped their record up to 11-8-1.

Everything went Catalina's way against Thatcher in their previous meeting back in January, as Catalina made off with a 5-1 victory. Will Catalina repeat their success, or does Thatcher have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
