Basketball Recap: Stewart County Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Randolph-Clay, Stewart County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Miller County Pirates by a score of 49-41. That's more bragging rights for the Royal Knights , who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Miller County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zariyona Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. That's the most points Williams has posted since back in December of 2023. Hannah Cratic was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points.

Stewart County's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Miller County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Stewart County has already played their next matchup, a 74-57 defeat against Seminole County on the 11th. As for Miller County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-37 victory against Terrell County on the 11th.
