Holly Springs unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 79-58 to the Fuquay - Varina Bengals on Wednesday. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Golden Hawks struggled afterwards.

Despite the loss, Holly Springs still got an impressive performance from Chase Olgine, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 boards. Samuel Webster was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to nine rebounds and eight assists.

Beckett Coon went supernova For Fuquay - Varina., shooting 60% from the field on his way to 28 points and four steals. Coon's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxton Coon, who went 5-for-11 en route to 15 points and five assists.

Fuquay - Varina has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
