Basketball Recap: Palmetto Comes Up Short

Palmetto played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 66-38 loss at the hands of the Southside Christian Sabres. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ned Murphy was nothing short of spectacular for Southside Christian: he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Murphy has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gibson Askew, who posted 11 points.

Palmetto dropped their record down to 6-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Southside Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
