Baseball Recap: Milano Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Milano brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against the Round Top-Carmine Cubs on Tuesday as the Milano Eagles made off with a 12-2 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kellson Miller made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Taylor Wall was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Daniel Frei, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Milano was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Milano now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Round Top-Carmine, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Milano will have a chance to go back-to-back against Round Top-Carmine: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
