Football Game Preview: Towanda Black Knights vs. Sayre Redskins

The Towanda Black Knights will face off against the Sayre Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Towanda is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 41 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Athens on Friday. They were dealt a 54-7 loss at the hands of the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Sayre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by South Williamsport 47-6. The Redskins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.

Sayre's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Towanda, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Towanda against Sayre in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-14 victory. In that game, the Black Knights amassed a halftime lead of 40-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
