Basketball Game Preview: Pahokee Blue Devils vs. Okeechobee Brahmans

The Pahokee Blue Devils will square off against the Okeechobee Brahmans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pahokee is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Glades Central: they outscored them in every quarter. Pahokee blew past Glades Central 37-13 on Monday. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Sa?Nya Flowers was her usual excellent self, putting up 21 points. The contest was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Karlissa Young was another key player, scoring 11 points.

Meanwhile, Okeechobee can bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 40-30 victory over South Fork. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but the Brahmans were the better team in the second half.

Pahokee's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 21.5 points. As for Okeechobee, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-15.

Pahokee suffered a grim 49-25 defeat to Okeechobee in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Pahokee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
