It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Reading Memorial had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders by a score of 5-2. Winning may never get old, but the Rockets sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

Grady Ventura tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Reading Memorial let Alex Merkle and Isaac Robinson run wild. Merkle got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double, while Robinson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Reading Memorial's win bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they moved to 21-7 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Reading Memorial will square off against Walpole at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Somerset Berkley Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
