Softball Recap: Kennard-Dale Wins Going Away Against Dover

Kennard-Dale never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Dover Eagles with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Rams have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Taryn Ashenfelter was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Argiro, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Rinaudo, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Kennard-Dale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.

Kennard-Dale's record now sits at 14-2. As for Dover, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennard-Dale will face off against West York Area at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Dover, they will take on Big Spring at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
