Basketball Game Preview: LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers vs. Midland Timberwolves

The LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers will venture away from home to take on the Midland Timberwolves at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. LaSalle-Peru is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, LaSalle-Peru ended up a good deal behind Kaneland and lost 64-45. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Knights are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Midland over Brimfield in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Midland walked away with a 52-40 win over Brimfield.

Midland's victory bumped their record up to 11-18. As for LaSalle-Peru, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.

LaSalle-Peru strolled past Midland in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 51-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for LaSalle-Peru since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
