Softball Recap: Shawnee Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elverado, Shawnee was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Scott City Rams a 3-0 shutout. The Redskins were shut out 12-0 the last time they took on the Rams, so the Redskins were just returning the favor.

Not much got past Addilyn Clark, who gave up just ten hits and racked up six Ks to keep Scott City off the board.

On the hitting side, Madalyn Schuster was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Ford, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Scott City, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Shawnee will host Hardin County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Scott City, they will venture away from home to square off against Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
